İnecik

It is understood from the examinations that an old Thracian city was founded in İnecik. However, we do not know the ancient name of the city founded in İnecik. During the Roman and Byzantine periods, its population was 3000. İnecik is a settlement in Tekirdağ, at the 24th kilometer of the Tekirdağ-Malkara road, whose history reaches back to the Ottoman Empire. In the first years of the conquest of Rumeli by Gazi Süleyman Pasha, when the Byzantines did not want to lose the ancient route of Via Egneta, which extended to Rome, Ottoman Anatolia (Tokat, Kütahya, Karasi, Sivas) settled in this region and Eğrebey and İğnebey nomads settled in this region and ensured the control of the region. İnecik has always maintained its importance throughout its journey through time. Even in the early 1900s, it hosted a significant number of Muslims and non-Muslims. In fact, some families from the Arabian peninsula were brought to the region to teach this language because Arabic and Persian were respected in official offices. The next generations of these families still live in and around İnecik. The Mirliva Hüseyin Pasha Mosque, which refers to İnecik's Ottoman identity, the historical Ottoman bath, and the Sultan Dede Tomb have managed to survive as structures that have been traced to time. Evliya Çelebi's famous travel book also contains historically noted narratives for İnecik. . It is 24 km away from Süleymanpaşa. The economy of the village is based on agriculture and husbandry. The population of 2019 is 664.
